The purpose of this dissertation was to make a reserch of the physical effects of Chilgitang on diarrhea caused by stress. The method of research was to deliver Chilgitang to rats suffered from stess, and observe the morphological and immunostructural chang of gastrointestial tract.
The results obtained are as follows
1. In the Masson´s trichrome, damase of epithelial lining and lamina pripria on gastrointestinal tract by heating and immobilization stress was clear in duodenum, jejunum and ileum.
2. In the Masson´s trichrome, the epithelial lining and lamina propria of Chilgitang-medicated group was completely recovered as the control group.
3. The largest number of PAS dyeing cells was observed in colon, and the smallest number in duodeum.
4. PAS dyeing cells of Chilgitang-medicated group was increased in duodeum, jejunum ~. and ileum as compared with control group.
5. The largest number of entroendocrine cells was observed in duodenum and smallest number in rectum.
6. Entroendcrine cells of Chilgitang-medicated group was increased in duodenum, jejunum and ileum as compared with control group.
7. Entroendocrine cells was changed completely in ileum.
From the above experimental resut, we indentified that the most conspicuous part of chang showing the atrophy and disintegration of gastrointerstinal mucosa and the diminution of endocrine cells was terminal end of small intestine, i. e. from jejunum to ileum. And the phenomenon that the morphological and immunostructural chang of the sample group after Chilgitang prescription returned to normal condition testified to the curing effect of Chilgitang on diarrhea caused by stress.
